Interprofessional Health Research Day

SAINT JOHN (Wednesday, March 26, 2014)

Media Invitation -

Members of the media are invited to attend the Interprofessional Health Research (iHR) Day, on March 28, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, 400 University Avenue.

Over 40 oral and poster presentations are planned for this year's edition and poster viewings will take place starting at 9 a.m. in the Light Court on the main floor. A keynote address will launch the event in the amphitheatre on Level 1 at 1 p.m.

This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Anil Adisesh, an internationally recognized researcher and clinical physician in the occupational health field. His talk will focus on the merits of research for a long and healthy working life. Dr. Adisesh also serves as the inaugural J.D. Irving, Limited Research Chair in Occupational Medicine at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick. He will be available for an interview early that morning or immediately following his address.

Representatives from Horizon Health Network, the Saint John Campus of the University of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Community College and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick will also be present.

iHR Day is an annual  event where health professionals, academics and post-graduate students from all disciplines present their research results, showcasing a wide range of regional studies. Topics include psychology, chemistry, oncology, emergency medicine, nursing, pharmacy, cardiology and resident training.

The theme is one of collaboration and new researchers also gain experience by presenting their work in a public forum and networking with other researchers. More information on iHR Day, including an agenda, can be found at
