Miramichi Regional Hospital Goes Smoke Free
Members of the media are invited to attend Miramichi Regional Hospital's 'Smoke-Free Together' launch. Beginning April 7, smoking or vaping will not be permitted on hospital property. Smoke-free properties will extend to all Horizon hospitals over the next six months.

Location: Miramichi Regional Hospital Lobby, 500 Water Street, Miramichi, N.B.
Miramichi Regional Hospital is the second Horizon facility to go smoke-free, following the Saint John Regional Hospital in September. Five more facilities will also go smoke-free this month:
- Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (April 18)
- Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation (April 18)
- Oromocto Public Hospital (April 18)
- Upper River Valley Hospital (April 25)
- Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph (April 25)
Presentations include a ceremonial "butting out" in lieu of a ribbon cutting to remind everyone to "butt out" before they come onto hospital property.
Horizon CEO John McGarry will be available to talk to the media about the Smoke-Free Policy.
This ongoing dedication to positive change for our hospitals demonstrates Horizon's commitment to improving the health and wellness of all New Brunswickers.
April 7 is also World Health Day, a global health awareness day.
Join us for blood pressure checks, information booths, music and refreshments.
