Vision 2020: Partnering to Enhance the Care Experience

On May 26 and 27, 2020 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Horizon Health Network will host international, national and regional leaders with expertise in patient-, client- and family-centred care, quality and patient safety.

The Vision 2020 conference will foster thought-provoking dialogue, promote best practices, and inspire participants to provide exceptional care to every person every day.

Horizon's commitment to patient-, client- and family-centred care

Horizon facilities have transformed the way care is delivered. Our health care staff, patients, clients and families have more opportunities than ever for working together to meet the individual health care needs of our patients.

Here are some of the improvements we've made to patient-, client- and family-centred care at Horizon:

  • Established a Patient Advisory Council
  • Recruited up to 90 patient experience advisors that participated in 172 committees, special projects, and focus groups
  • Implemented a Family Presence Policy
  • Implemented a Pet Friendly Policy
  • Standardized name tags to improve staff identification
  • Developed a Rights, Responsibilities and Expectations Guide for patients and staff
  • Developed a process to address patient and family complaints through the Patient Representative Office
  • Standardized uniforms to identify nursing personnel

Patients, clients and their families are at the centre of everything we do at Horizon. Our five-year Strategic Plan, A Healthier Future for New Brunswick, has positioned patient-, client- and family-centred care as a top strategic priority and the Vision 2020 conference aligns with Horizon's vision of providing exceptional care to every person every day.
