A team of skilled physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals will provide your care during your stay at the hospital. Your physician will determine when you are well enough to go home.
Being discharged from hospital does not mean you are fully recovered.It simply means that your physician has determined that your medical condition is stable and you do not need hospital care any longer.
Some information that you may need before you leave includes:
- special instructions about eating, drinking, and or physical activity
- medications - what to take, when to take it and for how long
- special instructions on pain control or incisions and drain care
- instructions on problems you need to watch for and what to do about them
You will need to confirm that you have someone available to drive you home prior to being discharged.
