Interprofessional Health Research Day presentations set for March 23 at Saint John Regional Hospital

(SAINT JOHN) March 21, 2018 - Health professionals, academics and postgraduate students from all disciplines will present their research findings during Interprofessional Health Research (iHR) Day at Saint John Regional Hospital Friday, March 23, 2018.  

Hosted by Horizon Health Network, UNB Saint John, New Brunswick Community College and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, the event will showcase a wide range of research happening throughout the province on topics such as psychology, oncology, emergency medicine, nursing, endocrinology, and cardiology.

The keynote address, titled Sex and Gender-Based Medicine: Proper Care or Propaganda?, will be presented by Dr. Cara Tannenbaum, Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research's Institute of Gender  and Health, and a Professor of Medicine at the Université de Montréal. Also appearing is Dr. Erin Fredericks, a professor and LGBTQ resource advisor from St. Thomas University who will deliver the presentation From Cultural Competency to Cultural Humility: Building Trusting Patient-Provider Relationships Across Difference.
