Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Perth-Andover – Temporary Closure
(HORIZON) April 17, 2014 - All 23 patients from Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph's Hospital in Perth-Andover were successfully evacuated last night after Horizon Health Network temporarily closed the facility. The decision was made as a precaution due to rising flood waters and the possibility of the facility becoming isolated without a safe method of egress.
Ambulance New Brunswick and Emergency Measures Organization transferred 16 patients to the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, while seven were able to be discharged to their homes.
Family members of the affected patients have been notified. Patients or family members with questions or concerns may contact 506-273-7100 for more information.
Horizon thanks the staff and physicians at Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph's, Ambulance New Brunswick and the Emergency Measures Organization for their professionalism in handling this situation.
