Horizon Health Network Board thanks outgoing CEO
(HORIZON) January 24, 2013 - The Board of Horizon Health Network would like to acknowledge the significant contributions Mr. Donald Peters has made to help create the organization as a leader in health-care services and innovation.
"It was no small task amalgamating four independent regional health authorities into a single health network," David Ferguson, Horizon Board chairman said Thursday afternoon, shortly after Mr. Peters announced he would be stepping down as CEO.
Mr. Peters, who has served as Horizon Health Network's President
and CEO since its inception in 2008, recently turned 65 and had
expressed his wish to not renew his contract for another
Prior to his role with Horizon Health Network, Mr. Peters had been the President and CEO of South-East Regional Health Authority in Moncton, NB since 2000. Before coming to Moncton he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Central Regional Health Board in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Before this he was the CEO of the Dartmouth General Hospital and the Hants Community Hospital. Prior to this Mr. Peters was a Vice President at the Halifax Infirmary. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Diploma in Engineering from St. Mary's University and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from Technical University of Nova Scotia. He holds a Diploma in Health Care Organization and Management from the Canadian Hospital Association and is a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
The Board of Horizon Health Network thanks Mr. Peters and wishes him well in all his future endeavours.
