Congratulations to Dr. Marc Pelletier, Specialist of the Year
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons has announced that Dr. Marc Pelletier is the College's 2014 Specialist of the Year for Region 5. Region 5 consists of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. This award has been given to him in recognition of his significant contributions in providing outstanding care to his patients and community.
"This award is actually quite a humbling recognition - it is a true honour as it has been granted to me by my peers from across the province," said Dr. Pelletier.
Since his return to his roots in New Brunswick, Dr. Pelletier has been instrumental in bringing many advances in cardiac surgical technique like Minimally Invasive Surgery to the New Brunswick Heart Centre, and in spearheading the TAVI Trans Aortic Valve Implantation program with Dr. Vern Paddock. He has been a champion of clinical and outcomes research, and worked extensively with the students at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick.
