Wireless Internet for patients is here at the Sackville Memorial Hospital
(HORIZON) September 8, 2016 - Horizon Health Network, in partnership with the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation, is pleased to announce free patient WiFi is here! Starting today, wireless Internet is available for all patients at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
"Enhancing the comfort and care of patients is part of Horizon's first strategic priority - creating and sustaining an exceptional patient and family centred care environment," said Andrea Seymour, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Corporate for Horizon Health Network. "We are delighted to partner with the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation to introduce free WiFi for our patients at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, to keep them connected to those they love when they need it the most."
The wireless network, called 'WiFi - Patients', will improve the health care experience and allow patients to stay in touch with family and friends through website access, social media, and email.
Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation Chair, Elaine Smith, is pleased to partner with Horizon in providing the best possible patient experience. "Having access to WiFi technology helps patients combat the sense of isolation they may feel while in hospital as well as allowing them to stay in touch with the people who are important to them," says Smith.
Seymour says Horizon is grateful for the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation's continued support and commitment in providing exceptional care to every person, every day. Wireless Internet for patients is available at multiple Horizon hospitals, and Horizon continues to work with local Foundations and Auxiliaries to bring wireless Internet to other Horizon facilities.
