Horizon Health Network seeks a hospitalist physician for the Upper River Valley hospital in Waterville, NB.  This is a salaried position requiring experience in hospital based medicine.  As a hospitalist, you will provide hospital-based, focused primary care to inpatients with emphasis on post-admission (inpatient) management, efficient hospital stay, discharge planning in cooperation with the discharge coordinator, use of e-documentation, and effective communication with the patient and their family, and family physician. Obstetrics is not necessary. The successful candidate will share equitable after-hours, in-patient/hospitalist on-call rota with other hospitalist physicians.  CCFP certification preferred.  Must be certified in ACLS.   

Situated west-centrally in New Brunswick, the Upper River Valley area, including the Town of Woodstock and the Town of Hartland, serves a catchment population of 45,000. Many sites in this region are situated along the majestic St. John River valley and all sites are within driving distance of the province's historic capital, Fredericton. 

The hospital provides services to the Town of Woodstock, Town of Hartland several villages and other surrounding communities. The community's economy is mainly based on natural resources and farming industries. 

The Upper River Valley Hospital is the newest hospital in New Brunswick. It has been designated as the first full service hospital in Canada to be recognized as a leader in energy and environmental design.
