Our Department of Psychiatry is seeking a general adult psychiatrist for our FACT team, scheduled to commence operations in the latter half of 2017. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric clinical and administrative leadership within a multidisciplinary team focused on supporting individuals with serious mental illnesses, maximizing their capacity to function in the community. A strong background in delivering community based care to individuals with psychotic illness is expected.

Teaching of medical students, psychiatry residents and family medicine residents is an integral part of this position. The successful candidate should have experience teaching in an academic setting and would be supported to apply for a clinical academic appointment from the Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, Halifax and Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador as both faculties of medicine have medical learners training in Saint John.

The successful candidates will

1)     Have successfully completed psychiatry residency training.

2)     Have FRCPC, or equivalent qualifications in Psychiatry and be committed to write the Canadian fellowship exam

3)     Have eligibility for full licensure in the Province of New Brunswick.

As a designated campus of the Dalhousie University Medical Education Program, the Department of Psychiatry shares academic responsibilities for post graduate residents and medical students with regular teaching, rounds and journal clubs. DMNB is the administrative arm for all Dalhousie medical education programs operating in New Brunswick.

Remuneration will be by salary in the range of $221,078 - $268,788 with supplemental fee for services billings for after hours on call.
