Year 1 - Prerequisites and application
Specific university/college courses are required to be successfully completed before applying for entry into Year 2 of the Radiation Therapy program. These courses can be taken at the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ) or at any accredited educational college or university recognized by UNB. Potential candidates apply through UNB for entry into Year 2 of the Radiation Therapy program.
Year 2 - CCMB and Saint John
After the selection process is complete, students are registered in the Radiation Therapy degree program. Programming for Year 2 is offered through CCMB in dedicated classroom space adjacent to CCMB's main site located near the Health Sciences Centre (September - December and March - June). Clinical education is provided at the Saint John Regional Hospital (January - February)
Year 3 - Saint John and UNB
Students begin with a four-month clinical rotation at the Saint John Regional Hospital (September - December). Winter term begins in January after the holidays with health sciences courses at UNBSJ until April. Students will then have another four-month clinical rotation at the Saint John Regional Hospital (May - August).
Year 4 - Saint John and UNB
Students will complete required university-level courses during the fall term (September - December) at UNBSJ. The final clinical rotations run for 30 weeks (two 15 week terms), beginning in January after the holidays and lasting until August. Upon completion of the program, students can register for UNB's Fall Convocation to receive their Bachelors of Health Sciences degree. All graduates are prepared to challenge the certification exams offered by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
