Career Exploration - Visitor Shadowing

Termed a visitor, this learner is not affiliated with an Agency. A shadowing experience is requested by an individual to actively explore a profession through observation and discussion.

The goal of supporting the shadowing experience is to enhance the career search that the applicant has already completed independently.

The visit can last up to one day and may include the following:

  • Awareness of the profession
  • Tour of unrestricted departments
  • Equipment demonstration
  • Opportunity for discussion

A traditional shadowing experience may not be possible given the nature and associated risk of certain professions. Opportunities to meet with a professional in a non-clinical environment may be possible.

The individual is required to process the appropriate Horizon Education Placement Request Form(s) to initiate the placement request process.
