The first contact should be with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (email@example.com) to inquire if you are eligible for medical licensure in the province. In general, any such inquiry would need to be accompanied by a current curriculum vitae (CV.)
The first step is to submit your complete curriculum vitae (CV) with references to a physician recruitment office within Horizon. Once the Clinical Head of your specialty has reviewed your CV, you will be notified if the Department is interested in you as a candidate. If there are no openings in your specialty, your CV may be referred to another area in the province which may have current vacancies.
In order for a family physician to set up a community based practice in our region, the physician must be eligible for a full unrestricted or defined license by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick http://www.cpsnb.org/
In most cases you would not be able to find employment in Horizon the usual license requested is a full unrestricted or defined New Brunswick license.
Does your hospital pay for foreign medical students who want to enroll in a Canadian residency program for a return of service?
Hospitals within Horizon do not finance any medical student wanting to enroll in a Canadian residency program. Candidates have to go through CaRMS http://www.carms.ca/eng/index.shtml
Would you buy out a return of service contract to another province to employ me as a physician in your region?
A return of service agreement is between a specific physician and province. Horizon would not buy out such a contract from another province to employ a physician.
